The difficult patient and doctor: origins and suggestions.

The "difficult patient" in today's environment can be better understood when one looks at some of the changes that have occurred in the medical field during the past 60 years or so. By refocusing on the values of the past that fostered a good doctor-patient relationship, and emphasizing them today, the current problems faced by facial plastic surgeons and all practitioners can be ameliorated.
