Cologne Eyelid Surgery - The Procedure
During the surgery an extra skin, fat and muscle are removed from upper and lower eyelids. The surgery can repair a drooping upper eyelid and a "puffy" lower eyelid, which can make you appear tired or older than you actually are, they can also interrupt with your visual fields. You must know that this operation will not repair the wrinkles on the sides of the eyes, skin pigmentation around the eyes and fallen eyebrows. Eyelid surgery can be combined with face-lift, brow lift and forehead lift.


Cologne Eyelid Surgery - Operation Process
The operation usually lasts from one to three hours depend on the magnitude of the procedure. Usually the surgeon will fix the upper eyelid in both eyes and then the lower ones. During a standard procedure the surgeon will perform a skin excision in the folds of an eyelids.   • An interim report summarising preliminary findings from the National Infarct Angioplasty Project (NIAP) feasibility study has been published (see link above). NIAP is an observational study set up by the Department of Health in collaboration with the British Cardiovascular Society and British Cardiovascular Intervention Society to test the feasibility of developing primary angioplasty services as the initial treatment for heart attack (in preference to thrombolytics) across England. This interim report covers the emerging findings from analysis of the first year of data collected by the project’s seven pilot sites from April 2005 to March 2006. It focuses on analysis of data from the patients’ hospital admission and includes observations from the pilot sites that may be useful for those who are planning to introduce primary angioplasty services. The key findings include: • The development of primary angioplasty services is feasible in a variety of geographical settings. • Establishing a primary angioplasty service requires a multidisciplinary approach and good communication between all stakeholders. • Acceptable call-to-balloon times are achievable by direct or indirect admission to the primary angioplasty centre but the ideal is undoubtedly direct admission to the catheter laboratory at the primary angioplasty centre. A final report will be published later in 2008, following receipt of a detailed independent evaluation and an analysis of the follow-up data.
  • An unprecedented ADHD study was launched on Wednesday 16th January to find causes and early warning signs of ADHD among pre-school age children. ADHD is frequently diagnosed but little is known about the causes, despite all the published research. Today there are no diagnostic criteria for ADHD in children under 6 years of age.
