Boston Buttock Implants - The Plastic Surgery Procedure
This surgical procedure also called gluteoplasty or buttock augmentation. It is design to reshape the size of your buttocks and create more firm and aesthetic appearance. The buttock area is not easily changed by weight reduction or exercise, therefore you may consider this operation to improve the look of your buttock. In general every person who wishes to undergo the operation and is in a good physical condition can do so.

Boston Buttock Implants - Insertion
During the operation the surgeon inserts silicon implants into your gluteal area. Unlike breast implants those are soft and solid, their shape and size vary according to individual body form and desires.

Boston Buttock Implants - Implants
There are few kinds of implants: round or oval (also called an anatomic implant). The most common implants are those made of silicon. It comes with smooth or textured surface and they are solid (meaning they rarely spill or rupture). The selection of an implant usually made according to the surgeon's advice and your preference.

Boston Buttock Implants - Insertion locations
The incision for the implant insertion can be made in several locations: two excisions, either on the superior buttocks or inferior buttock near the posterior thigh, both of those incisions leave a quite visible scar. One excision is made in the sacrum area, it goes from up down and is usually small (4-6 c"m). The only problem is that this incision tends to become infected more often; this can be overcome with antibiotics. The implant can be placed above or below the gluteal muscles. Finally, a liposuction can be added to this procedure to further shape your buttocks.

This procedure is preformed under general anesthesia and usually lasts for one hour, liposuction may add additional half an hour (consult local Boston surgeon).

Boston Buttock Implants - Risks
Every procedure has its risks, this one include bleeding, infection, nerve and/or muscle damage and damage to the implants such as spillage of the silicon and buttock asymmetry.

Boston Buttock Implants - After Surgery
After the surgery you will fell pain and discomfort so you'll be prescribed painkillers. You also have to wear a special bandage for 2-3 weeks to help you buttock to gain their new look. Occasionally you may feel either temperature changes or numbness in the area, this will resolve after a few month. It may take about 3 month for the swelling to resolve and the buttocks to regain their final appearance. You'll be able to go back to full activities after one month. Since the implants are placed far from the bony area you'll have no trouble sitting. Finally, the implants will give you're butt the look like you've been working out for years.

  • Boston By car

If you are driving in, you may seriously want to consider dropping your car at a lot and taking the "T" in. If you're heading downtown for the touristy sites, you will consider having a car a curse rather than a blessing. Parking at MBTA commuter rail and terminal subway locations is dirt cheap. In particular, the Riverside (Grove Street) stop at the end of the Green D line is right off I-95, and is $3.75 to park ALL DAY. You can even park overnight for something like a dollar more. Commuter rail stations are even cheaper. See the Public Transit section in the "Get around" section below.

  • Boston Alternative airports AN>

Due to congestion at Logan, two regional airports have been designated as alternatives to Logan Airport. Flying into one of these airports may be an option for travelers visiting points north or south of Boston or those who wish to fly Southwest (which flies into both of these airports, but does not serve Logan). Unless one of those conditions applies, it is recommended that you just fly into Logan, as both airports are some distance from Boston and not well served by public transportation.

  • In the January 18th issue of Molecular Cell, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine researcher Kristian E. • Abstract Background  Abdominoplasty is the most frequent excisional body contour procedure performed in aesthetic surgery. Secondary abdominoplasty refers to a new excisional procedure for a patient who has previously undergone an excisional abdominoplasty. In the authors’ practice, more than 7% of abdominoplasties are secondary cases and deserve special consideration. Methods  The authors present a retrospective analysis of their experience with 21 secondary cases among 298 abdominoplasties performed between 2001 and 2006. They have considered as secondary cases only those involving patients who have undergone excisional abdomen contour surgery previously. Results  A total of 17 patients underwent surgery during the first year after the primary procedure, and 4 patients had surgery more than 5 years after that procedure. Following the principles described in this report, it was possible to solve the problem in each particular case and to obtain improvements in both trunk contour and patient satisfaction. Conclusions  In planning and designing the procedure, a precise diagnosis of the abdominal deformities is essential. The risks in secondary abdominoplasty are similar to those in the primary procedure. Content Type Journal ArticleCategory Original ArticleDOI 10.1007/s00266-008-9135-9Authors P. S.
