Buttock Augmentation Procedure

This surgical procedure also called gluteoplasty or buttock augmentation. It is design to reshape the size of your buttocks and create more firm and aesthetic appearance. The buttock area is not easily changed by weight reduction or exercise, therefore you may consider this operation to improve the look of your buttock. In general every person who wishes to undergo the operation and is in a good physical condition can do so.

Buttock augmentation is achieved using fat. The idea is to remove fat from your one body part and inject in into your buttocks. The big advantage of this technique is the fact that there is no rejection since the tissue used is taken from your one body. In addition this method can make your buttock look very natural. The fat is usually taken from areas of the body, which have extra fat, like the flank area, the thigh and the upper and lower buttock. The extra fat, which is removed from the above areas, can further reshape the buttock making it look like you've been through a butt lift. After the fat is removed is undergoes some special processing and then injected to your buttocks using a special cannula, which has a very small diameter therefore leaves minimal scars. The big challenge of the fat grafting is to cause the graft to survive in the new place, this can be achieved by injecting small amount of fat each time into different layers, above and below the butt muscles. This way better blood supply is accomplished and irregularities of the surface is minimized. The graft survival is unpredictable, some of the fat is absorbed causing you to loose the augmentation effect. It is generally believed that what's left after 3 month usually stays forever. After the procedure the buttock area usually don't heart, the pain is generally from the incisions make in the donor area. Those incisions are also very small, the same ones used for liposuction.

Every procedure has its risks, the risks for this one is minimal. The main risk of the procedure is fat absorption, occurring in approximately one-third of the patients. Bleeding, infection and scarring are rare.

You'll be able to go back to work after 3-5 days, but you'll have to wear special garment for 3-4 weeks. It may take up to one month until you feel normal, some swelling may appear, which will usually disappear after a couple of month.

  • Russia Visas

Citizens of most non-Russia or CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries must obtain a visa prior to arriving to Russia. Citizens of Croatia (3 months, invitation required), Cuba (30 days), and Thailand (30 days) do not need a visa. Obtaining a Russian visa is a costly, time-consuming, and often frustrating process. Most visitors should start the process at least two months in advance.

There are two terms, invitation (or voucher for tourist visa) and the visa itself. Invitation is the paper in exchange of which one gets the actual visa. Visa is a sticker to one's passport. There are several types of invitations and visas.

The tourist invitation is a letter of confirmation of booking and pre-payment of your accommodation and travel arrangements in Russia. Can be obtained from a government approved hotel in Russia, on-line hotel booking service or Russian travel agency. The sign of government approval is so called "consular reference" the number of government registration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. Only hotels and travel agencies that have consular reference can issue the confirmations valid for visa purposes. Using a local Visa Service to obtain a Russian Visa will streamline the process. They will double check your application and invitation, go to the embassy for you and return your passport to you. This saves time and frustration.

  • Following a poll of its BMJ readers about what information was most needed to improve the quality of care of patients in clinical practice, six topics were identified for inclusion in a series of BMJ articles on ‘making a difference.’ One of these topics is the palliation of chronic pain and is dealt with in two articles; the first by Professor Henry McQuay from the University of Oxford notes “the burden of chronic pain for those who have it and their families is substantial and these patients deserve better.” In the second article, Dawn Stacey, assistant professor at the University of Ottawa School of Nursing and colleagues describe an example of quality improvement in practice for people with osteoarthritis. Prof McQuay notes that: • The Pain in Europe survey found that 19% of almost 50 000 people questioned in a telephone poll had chronic pain, and 1 in 5 of these respondents had pain for more than 20 years, and most had pain for more than 5 years. • The main causes of chronic pain are back pain and arthritis. • The incidence of chronic pain increases with age and populations are ageing. • Chronic pain has a substantial impact on quality of life; this impact is something that has yet to be fully appreciated by those who organise health services and allocate resources. He briefly touches on drug treatments and their side effects, neuropathic pain, and unresponsive pain. In terms of economics, he adds that patients with chronic pain who are managed poorly will bounce around the healthcare system, and consume considerable resources, whereas well managed pain contains this excess use of resources, saving an estimated £1500 per patient per year. He calls for more and better basic research, adding that the most tangible products are likely to come from the major drug companies, but there have been pitiably few new painkillers in the past 30 years. Lastly he states that “chronic disease comes low on the political priority list, and chronic pain just gets forgotten. The burden for the sufferers, their families, and society is substantial and merits better treatment.” Stacey et al discuss patient decision aids, which aims to improve the process, by which the patient and clinician together reach an informed decision about the plan of care on the basis of the patient’s clinical needs, priorities, and values. This is discussed in the context of osteoarthritis, where patients use such aids, together with balanced, evidence based information on the treatment options and the likelihood of the benefits and harms of those treatments.

  • An article in the April 2008 issue of ‘Drug Safety Update’ discusses the risk of carbamazepine-associated Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), which is estimated to occur in approximately one to six cases per 10 000 new users in the USA and Europe. The occurrence of this side-effect has been found to be strongly associated with presence of the HLA-B*1502 allele in individuals of Han Chinese, Hong Kong Chinese, or Thai origin. Such individuals should therefore be screened for this allele prior to commencing treatment with carbamazepine and if positive should only initiate therapy if the benefits clearly outweigh the risks of SJS. Data are not available to determine whether the same risk applies to other Asian populations, and whether the presence of this allele is associated with an increased SJS in users of other aromatic anticonvulsants (i.e. oxcarbazepine, phenytoin, or phenobarbitone).
