Breast Reduction Vertical Incision in Porto Alegre BR
Breast reduction is an operation that is usually considered a reconstructive procedure and is many times covered by insurance plans. The surgery is performed to make the breasts smaller, as well as lift the breasts to a more youthful position. The purpose of the surgery is to alleviate back and neck pain as well as to aid in hygiene in the folds underneath the breasts.

Porto Alegre is served by two major highways: BR-116, crossing it North-South and BR-290, crossing it East-West. The first can be used to visit destinations like Gramado and Canela (both North); the latter gives access to/from Rio Grande do Sul's litoral (East) and to/from Argentina (West).
Be advised that some of these roads are dangerous, for they have poor signaling/conditions and lots of trucks. Keep your travels by car on these roads to the duplicated ones and, if possible, during the day.

- The authors of this case report discuss the case of a 45 year old woman who presented to hospital in February 2006 with diffuse abdominal pain. The patient had had an aortic valve replacement a few years earlier. She had developed constipation in 2005, for which she was taking a senna based laxative. For a few weeks before her admission she had been taking several tablets a day and had been passing loose, watery stools up to 3 times a day. She had also passed bloody stools. Since having her valve replacement, the patient had been on warfarin, which she took regularly and her INR was in therapeutic range. Blood test results found a haemoglobin level of only 84 g/L and her INR was 11.9 (INR was 2.3 twenty-five days before admission). A CT scan of the abdomen showed significant haematoma and the patient was admitted and given vitamin K, fresh frozen plasma, and packed red cells. The authors note that a lack of vitamin K in the body reduces coagulation, and in this patient’s case the diarrhoea had reduced absorption of vitamin K (even though the patient’s dietary intake of green vegetables had remained constant), and therefore increased the risk of bleeding.
The authors say, “Although some physicians recommend halving the dose of warfarin when the patient has diarrhoea, many doctors seem unaware of the increased risk of bleeding - and many textbooks, formularies, and patient-information leaflets fail to mention the increased risk, or do so only in passing. Cases like ours will continue to occur, until doctors and patients are better informed.”
