Breast Lift Procedure
A mastopexy or breast lift is a surgical procedure performed to reshape the breast and return it to a more youthful position. Drooping of the breast may occur after pregnancy as well as aging. Frequently a breast implant may be used in conjunction with a breast lift in order to achieve better results. Depending on the amount of breast lifting that needs to be accomplished, different techniques may be used that involve different incisions. Generally, the more lifting that is required, the larger the incision (and therefore the scar).

Portugal Get around Thanks to generous government subsidies, rail travel in Portugal is often cheaper and faster than travel by bus. Unfortunately the rail network is limited, so you may find yourself bussing about to get anywhere off the beaten path. The immediate areas surrounding Lisbon and Porto are reasonably well-served by suburban rail services.
Lisbon and Porto also have a clean, modern and air-conditioned metro system (underground/subway and light railway). Road traffic in Lisbon and Porto is pretty congested all day round and gets completely stuck in the rush hours. Car travel is the most convenient or only method to reach areas outside the main cities, however (car rental is not too expensive, but the associated insurance is - unless you book the total package abroad). Heed the advice about the quality of some people's driving skills mentioned above.
In Lisbon you might want to try to hop on one of the trams, but be prepared for a noisy ride.

- The authors of this editorial discuss recent trials that have investigated the use of high dose statins in reducing lipid levels. They note that none of the studies involving high dose statins have used the “treat to target strategy”, (whereby the drug dose is titrated upwards), nor were they based on targets suggested by current guidelines. The studies either investigated a fixed dose of statin for the study duration or made minor adjustments. The editorialists write, “As doses of statins are increased the returns get smaller, whereas side effects continue to rise in a linear fashion. A more effective approach might be to modify several risk factors with a cocktail of various preventive drugs that do not need dose adjustments.” They suggest that current evidence supports prescribing statins at a standard dose without further testing or dose adjustment. The editorial concludes: “Despite the results of recent high dose statin trials, it is unclear whether possible benefit really translates into clinical practice. All we can say is that everyone at high risk of cardiovascular complications should be offered a standard dose of statin. Anyone with manifest disease would be eligible, irrespective of their initial cholesterol concentration. Only once we have achieved this should we think of further refinements.”
