Breast Lift Procedure

A mastopexy or breast lift is a surgical procedure performed to reshape the breast and return it to a more youthful position. Drooping of the breast may occur after pregnancy as well as aging. Frequently a breast implant may be used in conjunction with a breast lift in order to achieve better results. Depending on the amount of breast lifting that needs to be accomplished, different techniques may be used that involve different incisions. Generally, the more lifting that is required, the larger the incision (and therefore the scar).

  • Philippines By plane

Philippine Airlines and Air Philippines, Cebu Pacific, SEAIR, Asian Spirit and Interisland Airlines are some of the airlines that operate domestic flights. Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific serve most large cities, while smaller operators like SEAIR, Asian Spirit and Interisland Airlines typically fly to popular resort destinations.

  • Philippines By car

The Strong Republic Nautical Highway has actually made travel by car across the various islands possible albeit quite impractical for tourists due to long travel times required and the relatively cheap price of airfares between the major cities. If one is insistent on driving, the major car rental companies such as Avis, Hertz and Budget have offices in Metro Manila, notably at the airport. These companies have chauffeur driven rentals available and prices are bound to be reasonable.

Due to heavy traffic in Metro Manila, certain areas of the city have laws that restrict certain vehicles based on the day of the week and the ending number of your vehicle's license plate (this plan is called "Color Coding", though it has nothing to do with the color of your vehicle). For example: Cars with license plates ending in 0 or 1 cannot drive between the hours of 7am and 7pm on Mondays on most main roads. Be sure to check with a local contact or the car rental agency/hotel concierge about whether these rules will apply to your vehicle, especially as foreigners driving can become targets for less scrupulous traffic aides.

Travel from Metro Manila to various provinces in Luzon will typically start off from either the North or South Expressways. These are tollways with good asphalt paved roads. Farthest tolls will not cost more than a few dollars from Metro Manila. From the expressways, national highways and provincial roads connect to the major cities and provinces.

Plastic Surgery News...

  • Blue Cross of California on Tuesday said it would stop sending letters to physicians asking them to report pre-existing medical conditions that could be used to rescind patients' health care coverage, the Sacramento Bee reports (Griffith, Sacramento Bee, 2/13).

  • The outcomes of discussions during a forum set up to debate the issue of making medicines available to patients at an earlier stage of their development have been summarised in a document published on the MHRA website. The aim of this Forum, set up under the Ministerial Industry Strategy Group (MISG), was to bring together representatives from all the stakeholder groups who might be expected to have an interest in earlier access to medicines, to explore the possible benefits and potential problems that might arise from such a scheme. The Forum comprised representatives from patient groups, academia, safety scientists, the pharmaceutical industry, medicines regulators and other Government officials concerned with medicines’ pricing and reimbursement mechanisms and health technology assessments (NICE). The report recommends conditional licensing of new drugs at an earlier stage in the development process (e.g. at the end of Phase II). Such conditions would include for example a significant unmet clinical need, clear evidence of efficacy, confidence about safety, and informed consent. It also recommends allowing clinical use under strict controls, plus a systematic programme of pilot studies of conditional licensing for new drugs at an earlier stage, allowing initial use by specialists - but not GPs - in the context of a randomised control trial. For further details, please see the full report at the link above.
