Breast Lift Procedure

A mastopexy or breast lift is a surgical procedure performed to reshape the breast and return it to a more youthful position. Drooping of the breast may occur after pregnancy as well as aging. Frequently a breast implant may be used in conjunction with a breast lift in order to achieve better results. Depending on the amount of breast lifting that needs to be accomplished, different techniques may be used that involve different incisions. Generally, the more lifting that is required, the larger the incision (and therefore the scar).

  • Delaware Stay safe

    Staying safe in Delaware is a matter of staying smart. In Wilmington, city oficials and downtown merchants have formed (armed with two-way radios but not guns)private security patrols that wander the restaurant and entertainment districts in the downtown area--but "patrols" are few and far between. Most restaurants will summon a security person to escort you to your car, if requested. Neighborhoods turn sketchy fast in Wilmington. Sometimes it's a mater of crossing the street. Listen to your inner voice. If it's telling you that you've wandered into a "bad" area, you probably have. In general, it's best to avoid walking alone after dark in the downtown area. Interestingly enough, Wilmington has one of the highest concentrations of remote security cameras of any city its size. Of course, these cameras are best at identifying criminals AFTER the fact, so don't take much comfort in their presence.

    Despite the above advice, Delaware has less crime than most other states due to its small population. A visit anywhere in the state is safe. Like everywhere else, common sense needs to be used.

  • The National Library of Health (NLH) Skin Disorders Specialist Library is holding its second National Knowledge Week and annual evidence update on acne vulgaris from 3rd to 7th March 2008. The National Knowledge Week is particularly aimed at NHS health professionals, and will highlight sources of information on acne vulgaris and its treatment, including an analysis of new evidence and its implications for clinical practice, a range of expert commentaries, and a mapping by topic of systematic reviews on acne published since 1999.   • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that New Era Canning Company, New Era, Mich., is expanding its product recall because of potential Clostridium botulinum (C. botulinum) contamination to all canned green beans and garbanzo beans distributed by the company nationwide over the last five years. C. botulinum can cause botulism, a serious and sometimes life-threatening condition.
