Brachioplasty (Arm Lift)
Loose upper arm skin is most often related to weight loss. People in overweight more than likely develop heavy upper arms. To accommodate the increased volume of the upper arms, your skin stretched. After weight loss, skin often fails to tighten, and so it sags. The only way to improve this problem is through an arm lift, also called brachioplasty.
Is Liposuction an Option?
Liposuction can be a better choice when a patient has a lot of fat and the skin is tight. If the problem is loose skin, then an arm lift is usually the best choice.
Incisions and Scars in Arm Lift
Scars are the greatest drawback of this operation. They will extend from the armpit to the elbow, along the inside of the arm. This operation exchanges one cosmetic problem (loose skin) for another (scars). In general, those with very loose saggy skin are most likely to find this exchange worthwhile. Those with a small amount of looseness will probably not want the scars.

Tips and Traps of Arm Lift
Patient should realize that this operation involves the exchange of one cosmetic problem (loose skin) for another (scars). If a patient is unwilling to accept scars, they should avoid this operation. Surgeons can not predict how the scars will heal on a patient.
Arm lift is for loose skin. If your main problem is heavy arms due to excess fat, then liposuction may be a better option.

Argentina Time Argentinians generally take a very relaxed attitude towards time. This can be unsettling to visitors from North America and non-Latin parts of Europe where punctuality is highly valued. You should expect that your Argentine contacts will be at least 10 to 15 minutes late for any appointment, even to a business meeting. Tardiness of 30 to 45 minutes is not unusual. This is considered normal in Argentina and does not signify any lack of respect for the relationship.
If you are invited to a dinner or party at, say, 9 PM. It does not mean that you should be present at 9 PM, but instead that you should not arrive before 9 PM. You'll be welcomed anytime afterwards. Arriving to a party 2-3 hours late is normally OK and sometimes expected. This is normally difficult to understand for Northern hemispherians.
This attitude extends to any scheduled activity in Argentina. Plays, concerts usually get going around half an hour after their scheduled times. Long distance buses usually leave on time. Short-distance public transportation like city buses and the subway do not even bother with time estimates; they arrive when they arrive. Factor these elements into your calculations of how long things will take.
Unannounced bus or train departures ahead of the schedule are not uncommon, especially in big cities. This is normally not a problem, as in general no one will expect you to be on time anyway.

- Dawn Primarolo, the public health minister, has announced a new pilot scheme – the ‘Healthcare Technology Co-operative’ – which will bring together healthcare providers and industry to ‘catalyse’ the development of new health care products.
The pilots will be based at Barts and the London NHS Trust and, subject to contract, Sheffield NHS Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. The two centres will each receive £275,000 a year for the first two years, with the potential for further funding if successful. Researchers at Barts and the Royal London Hospital will investigate new technologies to improve bowel function, and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals will lead a team looking into new technologies to support stroke survivors and people with disabilities, amongst others. Please see the press release at the link above for further information.
- A "very plausible interpretation of a disturbing increase" in emergency department wait times is that the "nation's failure to provide health insurance for all Americans seems to be harming even many of those who do have good health coverage," a New York Times editorial states.
