Bellybutton Revision surgery, also known as Umbilicoplasty, is used to alter the look and shape of your bellybutton alone. Bellybutton Revision, or Umbilicoplasty is performed with local anesthesia or conscious sedation by request of the patient. The procedure takes the average of 30 to 90 minutes. The surgery is usually performed in the doctor's office operating room, although a surgical facility may be used, especially if other procedures are performed simultaneously.
In the first 24 to 48 hours after your procedure you will notice very little swelling, bruising or discomfort. Most people return to work and normal activities either the same day or the day after the procedure. The healing process starts immediately.
