Torsoplasty procedure in Estonia

A Torsoplasty procedure improves the appearance of the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. The operation is performed typically to remove excess skin and fat following massive weight loss. The Torsoplasty procedure combines a Tummy Tuck, Inner Thigh Lift, and Outer Thigh/Buttock Lift. A Torsoplasty procedure is also referred to as a circumferential torsoplasty, central body lift, lower body lift, belt lipectomy, circumferential panniculectomy and circumferential lipectomy. A Torsoplasty is a serious procedure which involves the exchange of one cosmetic problem (loose skin) for another (scars).

Estonia torsoplasty - Tip of the day:

What are the forms of body procedures?
• Liposuction- this is a scientific method of removing excess fats from your system.
• Thigh Lift Procedure- this is to tighten your skin in your thighs.
• Tummy Tuck – this is to remove excess fats from your tummy and tighten skin.
• Upper Arm Lift – this is to tighten skin and remove the sags on your upper arm.
• Butt Lift – this is to give your butt the perfect figure.

One of the best candidates for Torsoplasty surgery is a person who has lost a massive amount of weight, either through Bariatric Gastric Bypass surgery, Gastric Banding or weight loss diet. Such a person may have lost 80-300 pounds, but are left with folds of surplus overstretched skin on their breasts, backs, trunks and thighs. A Torsoplasty procedure is not a surgical treatment for being overweight. Obese individuals who intend to lose weight should postpone all forms of body contouring surgery until they have reached a stable weight. The Torsoplasty procedure ranges from 4-7 hours, and is usually performed under general anesthesia(while you are asleep). The sequence and duration of a Torsoplasty procedure varies according to the needs of the patient, although plastic surgeons typically perform Torsoplasty surgery in three stages. During stage 1 and stage 2, the patient is positioned on his/her side. Excess skin and body fat from the buttocks, hips, back and thighs are then removed from each side. During stage 3, an abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck” is performed to remove surplus skin and fat from the abdomen. The underlying abdominal muscles are exposed and tightened. Loose skin plus localized residual fat is excised from almost the whole of the central body, while weak muscles are tightened. The Torsoplasty procedure typically involves a combination of surgical excision and liposuction. In cases that require the removal of fat, liposuction is performed prior to removing excess skin. Any essential repairs to the abdominal wall (such as hernia repair) usually can be made at the time of the Torsoplasty.

Like all major surgeries, a Torsoplasty procedure requires significant recovery time. Like all major surgeries, a Torsoplasty procedure requires a recovery time. The average nights you will need to be in a hospital is 1-3 nights. Intravenous or intramuscular medications will be later followed by an oral pain medication to reduce the pain and discomfort. You might be encouraged to start a specific diet plan to help your healing process. Up to 2 weeks after the Torsoplasty surgery you will need to take care for the drainage tubes that are inserted, this will be done by you at your home. From the minute the surgery is over until your doctor will order you otherwise - you will need to wear a special medical compression garment (except when taking a shower).

Estonia torsoplasty - News update:
The case of a woman who died following childbirth due to a drug administration error has been reported widely today in the press. Mayra Cabrera, a 30-year old nurse, suffered a fatal heart attack within three hours of giving birth to a healthy son; this was found to be as a result of intravenous administration of anaesthetic which was intended for use as an epidural. According to a report by the Telegraph, a midwife at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon allegedly attached a drip bag containing bupivacaine for epidural administration to an intravenous drip in her arm. The Swindon and Marlborough NHS Trust had previously admitted liability but, following a police inquiry, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) decided not to bring charges. However, the CPS will now re-examine the case, after an inquest jury found the trust to be responsible for unlawful killing. It is believed to be the first such finding against an NHS trust, rather than a named person. The jury decided specifically that sub-standard storage of drugs in the maternity unit was to blame for her death. The hearing had been told that storage of the drug in the delivery suites was "chaotic", and did not meet requirements. The coroner involved in the case said he would be writing to the Health Secretary to recommend a series of changes, in particular the introduction of epidural use-only equipment. He would also be writing to the trust to recommend improvements in storage systems, training and administration in the maternity unit. The Telegraph report says that the trust involved had introduced a policy to store bupivacaine in locked cupboards following previous incidents, but this had been ignored following a move to a new site. In addition, every procedure has limitations. An individual`s choice to undergo a surgical procedure is based on the comparison of the risk to potential benefit. Although the majority of patients do not experience these complications, you should discuss each of them with your Plastic Surgeon to make sure you completely understand all possible consequences of a Torsoplasty procedure.
