However, since the surgery is contraindicated in case of many common ailments like heart diseases and diabetes, only your plastic surgeon will be able to tell you whether you can go for Liposculpture or not. A Liposculpture is the best possible solution for those who want to remove “hard to get rid of” fat from under the chin, thighs, tummy, hips, knees, calves, flanks and arms.

Liposculpture in Papua New Guinea (PG) - The Process

Extremely thin (2mm approx) hollow tubes called cannulas are inserted through quarter inch incisions in the area from which fat is to be removed. A tumescent solution containing lidocaine and epinephrine, which acts as an anesthetic and loosens and liquefies the fat tissues to be removed is injected before the fat is sucked out through the cannulas. Pain during the procedure is minimal and most patients are asked to change positions and stand up during surgery in order to provide the best results. A tumescent lipoplasty may take anything from two to four hours depending upon the complexity of the plastic surgery being performed.

Papua New Guinea Understand

Papua New Guinea (known popularly as 'PNG') - the eastern half of the island of New Guinea (which is the second largest island in the world) - was divided between Germany ('German New Guinea') and Great Britain ('British Papua') in 1884. The Dutch had West Papua, now the Indonesia territory of Western New Guinea. Papua was owned by England but administered by Australia - and thus a colony of a colony - until Australian independence, when in 1906 it became an Australian colony. In 1914 the Australians did their part in the Allied war effort and took control of German New Guinea, and continued to administer it as a Trust Territory under the League of Nations and (later) the United Nations.

Profile of microorganisms and antimicrobial resistance at a tertiary care referral burn centre in Iran: Emergence of Citrobacter freundii as a common microorganism.

Burns. 2008 Mar 28;

Authors: Khorasani G, Salehifar E, Eslami G

Infection and antimicrobial resistance are important issues in severe burn. The aims of this prospective study were to investigate the profile of microorganisms and resistance to antimicrobial agents in a tertiary referral burn centre; 113 people aged >10years, with partial- or full-thickness burns, were included in the study. A total of 733 samples including 275 swabs, 164 tissue biopsies, 258 urine samples, 26 blood samples and 10 sputum samples were collected, from which 124 microorganisms were isolated. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Citrobacter spp were the most prevalent isolates (57.3% and 35.5%, respectively); 95.5% of Citrobacter. isolates were Citrobacter freundii. Antibiogram results obtained from 15 antimicrobial agents demonstrated that imipenem was the most effective agent against P. aeruginosa, followed by ciprofloxacin and piperacillin/tazobactam (67.9%, 43% and 37.5% sensitive, respectively). At least 60% of all Citrobacter isolates were sensitive to various antimicrobial agents, the highest sensitivity being obtained by ceftazidime and cefepime (81.6% and 78.4%, respectively). Sensitivity of P. aeruginosa isolates to the agents of each antimicrobial class was significantly different (p<0.001). The incidence of C. freundii and the resistance of P. aeruginosa to anti-pseudomonas agents were exceptionally high.
