Eyelid tightening is conducted by plastic surgeons for reshaping the upper and lower eyelids, as well as for correcting drooping eyelids. Eyelid tightening is part of blepharoplasty cosmetic procedure. This delicate plastic surgery would reduce the drop in the eyelid but would not be able to eliminate wrinkles or crow’s feet. The patient should avoid television viewing for a few days. Normal work and daily routine could be resumed after about 10 days, if there are no post-operative complications.

Any eyelid tightening or blepharoplasty should be done by the plastic surgeon only after tests are conducted by a qualified ophthalmologist. This procedure would help in detecting complications like glaucoma, etc. In such cases, eyelid tightening would be contra-indicated. In general, eyelid tightening cosmetic procedure is a quite safe plastic surgery method, with minimal risks that are present in any surgery.
