Eyelid tightening is conducted by plastic surgeons for reshaping the upper and lower eyelids, as well as for correcting drooping eyelids. Eyelid tightening is part of blepharoplasty cosmetic procedure. This delicate plastic surgery would reduce the drop in the eyelid but would not be able to eliminate wrinkles or crow’s feet. For complete enhancement of the appearance of the eyes and the face, eyelid tightening should be combined with other plastic surgery procedures.

Lebanon eyelid tightening - Tip of the day:

What happens once the Eyelid Tightening has been performed?
After the eyelid surgery has been performed, the surgeons in Lebanon(LB) will lubricate the eyes and wrap it with bandages. You will experience mild discomfort and slight pain which you can overcome by taking the medication prescribed by your surgeon. You will see slight swelling and bruises which will heal within a week.

Eyelid tightening is done with the help of a local anesthetic. The surgeon would make incisions along the natural creases in the upper eyelid and below the eyelash line in the lower eyelid. The fatty tissue would be separated from the skin and all excess fat would be removed. The surgeon might also trim some muscles before trimming the excess skin that is sagging. Finally, the incisions would be closed with appropriate sutures. The surgeon should tuck the Apo neurosis carefully to achieve symmetry in both eyelids.

Lebanon eyelid tightening - News update:
The most potent drug available for the treatment of acne is 13-cis retinoic acid (13-cis RA; also known as isotretinoin); however, little is known about the mechanism by which it acts. Insight into the mechanisms by which 13-cis RA combats acne has now been provided by Diane Thiboutot and colleagues, from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, Hershey, who analyzed skin biopsies from patients with acne before and after 1 week of treatment with 13-cis RA. After the surgery, the surgeon would closely monitor the patient until complete recovery is achieved. This would generally take about 3 to 6 weeks but could be longer in a few patients. Infection, dry eyes, and burning sensation are the most common risks in eyelid tightening. The moderate pain during the recovery period could be controlled by appropriate medications. The patient should avoid television viewing for a few days. Normal work and daily routine could be resumed after about 10 days, if there are no post-operative complications.

Lebanon Visas

Non-nationals must have a visa to enter Lebanon. Three-month visas are free for nationals from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Other nationals can obtain a 15-day visa for LL25,000 (US$17), or a three-month visa for LL50,000 (US$35). These visas are single-entry; nationals of many countries can also obtain multiple-entry visas (which cost more). 48 hour transit visas (valid for three calendar days) are issued free of charge.

Visas can be obtained at Lebanese embassies and consulates in other countries, or upon arrival at Beirut airport and other points of entry.

Entry is refused if holding used or unused, expired or valid visa for Israel, or having any Israeli stamp endorsed on passport.

Any eyelid tightening or blepharoplasty should be done by the plastic surgeon only after tests are conducted by a qualified ophthalmologist. This procedure would help in detecting complications like glaucoma, etc. In such cases, eyelid tightening would be contra-indicated. In general, eyelid tightening cosmetic procedure is a quite safe plastic surgery method, with minimal risks that are present in any surgery.
