Capsular contracture – The Nightmare associated with Breast Augmentation

One of the most common side effects for people who undergo breast procedures like breast augmentation is capsular contracture. When surgeons in PG (Papua New Guinea) perform this type plastic surgery, they create a pocket in order to embed the breast implants. Though in most cases, these pockets remain without causing any concerns, in certain other cases, our body form a capsule in this region which is made of living tissues in our body. It is formed due to the unnatural response of our body to foreign objects. This is the step taken by the immune system to ward off the effect of the foreign body in our body. When the capsule formed by the tissues begins to tighten, it tends to squeeze the implant which gives rise to capsular contracture.
