Capsular contracture – The Nightmare associated with Breast Augmentation

One of the most common side effects for people who undergo breast procedures like breast augmentation is capsular contracture. When surgeons in KR (Korea) perform this type plastic surgery, they create a pocket in order to embed the breast implants. Though in most cases, these pockets remain without causing any concerns, in certain other cases, our body form a capsule in this region which is made of living tissues in our body. It is formed due to the unnatural response of our body to foreign objects. This is the step taken by the immune system to ward off the effect of the foreign body in our body. Classifying capsular contracture

Depending on the intensity, there are 4 levels of contracture. The first level is called “Grade I” where the breast looks natural and feels soft though the capsule is formed. The next is termed as “Grade II” where the breast looks natural but feels firm. In “Grade III”, the breast not only feels firmer but is also looks abnormal. The final level is termed “Grade IV” where the breast, in addition to looking abnormal, feels hard and is painful to touch.

This concern can be overcome; however, it necessitates surgery. Capsular contraction is the breast procedure that needs to be performed on people having capsular contracture issues. Is capsular contraction harmful?

It may lead to either bleeding or formation of blood clots. You may also incur bruises and experience scarring. In rare cases, the body may react negatively to anesthesia or you might experience numbness.
